Secured Investment, Immovable and Unstealable!

I will sing of your strength, in the morning I will sing of your love; for you are my fortress, my refuge in times of trouble.
--Psalm 59:16
New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY'S VERSE
So many things in our lives can be stolen away by natural disasters, aging, and death.  Satan could be appropriately called "The Thief of Always."  But God is immovable and unstealable!  We can invest ourselves in him and know our spirits are secure in his care.  He is a fortress and a refuge.

MY PRAYER
O Great Rock of my salvation, thank you for being unchangeable and faithful.  Thank you for being the source of security and future in a day of chaos and change.  Thank you for being God. You are my God and in you I place my life, my hopes, and my future.  May you be glorified in me today.  In Jesus name I pray.  Amen.
Blessed Based On God’s Goodness

And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “I have heard the complaints of the children of Israel. Speak to them, saying, ‘At twilight you shall eat meat, and in the morning you shall be filled with bread. And you shall know that I am the Lord your God.’”
Exodus 16:11–12

Many years ago, when I was studying God’s Word, the Lord spoke to me, saying, “Before the law was given, none of the children of Israel died when they came out of Egypt. Even though they murmured and complained against God’s appointed leadership, not a single one of them died. This is a picture of pure grace.” I had never heard anyone teach this before or read it in any book, so I quickly went through that portion in my Bible and indeed, I could not find anyone who died before the law was given!

You see, when the Israelites journeyed from Egypt to Mount Sinai, they were under the Abrahamic covenant of grace. They only came under the law when the Ten Commandments were given to them at Mount Sinai. Therefore, in spite of their sins, God delivered them out of Egypt and provided for them supernaturally, not based on their goodness and faithfulness, but based on His goodness and faithfulness.

Beloved, the good news for you and me is this: Today, we are under the new covenant of grace (unmerited favor), and God’s unmerited favor is upon us. Therefore, His blessings and provisions for us are based entirely on HIS GOODNESS and HIS FAITHFULNESS. Hallelujah!

No Mind has Conceived what God has prepared for You

As it is written:  "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.
--1 Corinthians 2:9
New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY'S VERSE
Many of the things we anticipate and dream about are much less glorious in real life than they were in our imaginations. There is one event, however, that is better than we can imagine and beyond our wildest dreams. When Jesus returns to take us home to be with our Father, it will be far better than we can ask, imagine, dream or think.  Maranatha - Come Lord Jesus!

MY PRAYER
Abba Father, thank you for knowing me before time began. Thank you for crafting me in my mother's womb.     Thank you for sending Jesus to pay the price for my sins.  And thank you in advance for the day Jesus comes to take me home to be with you forever.  Through my Conquering Savior I pray.  Amen.
Let The Lord Be Your Promotion

Now when the turn came for Esther the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her as his daughter, to go in to the king, she requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised. And Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her.
Esther 2:15

When King Ahasuerus was looking for a new queen, the most beautiful women in the land were all brought into the palace. All the women were given the opportunity to adorn themselves with whatever they desired from the women’s quarters before they were brought for an audience with the king.

But when it was Esther’s turn, she “requested nothing but what Hegai the king’s eunuch, the custodian of the women, advised.” And look at the results: “Esther obtained favor in the sight of all who saw her,” and the king “loved Esther more than all the other women, and she obtained grace and favor in his sight more than all the virgins; so he set the royal crown upon her head and made her queen” (Esther 2:17).

While the other women probably tried to outdo one another by relying on their own efforts, Esther wisely submitted to the one person who knew the king’s preferences best, and the results speak for themselves. I want you to see how Esther depended on the Lord’s unmerited favor. She did not strive to win. She rested in the Lord and humbled herself, and the Lord promoted her and exalted her above all the other beautiful women.

My friend, when you humble yourself and cease from your efforts to promote yourself, and depend on Jesus alone, the Lord Himself will be your promotion and increase. Like Esther, you will stand out in a crowd and obtain grace and favor with God and man!

2 dimensional Christianity

Hear, O Israel:  The Lord our God, the Lord is one.  Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
--Deuteronomy 6:4-5
New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY'S VERSE
So many times Satan seduces us into a flat, 2 dimensional Christianity - going to church and doing good deeds.  But God calls us to a three dimensional faith. He wants us to love him with all of our being in all of  our actions and with all of our might.

MY PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father, I honor you as God Almighty.  I appreciate you for all your kindness and blessings lavished upon me.  I love you because you first loved me in Jesus. My heart's desire today is to demonstrate my love for you in all I do, and love and say.  Through Jesus.  Amen.

His love is not metered out

You are forgiving and good, O Lord, abounding in love to all who call on you.
--Psalm 86:5
New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY'S VERSE
Forgiveness is such a sweet blessing.  But God does more than forgive!  He cleanses and forgets.  His love is not metered out or carefully rationed.  He pours it out upon us if we genuinely seek him as our God and Father.

MY PRAYER
O Precious Father, I call to you wanting you to know how important your love and forgiveness are in my life.  Thank you for sending Jesus to show your love and pay the debt of my sin.  Help me to live today as your child: may others see my joy and my passion, to you glory.  Through my Savior I pray.  Amen.
Smart People Follow Jesus

He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.
Psalm 23:2
            Smart People Follow Jesus
The world says, “He who fails to plan, plans to fail.” It says you’ve got to make smart, detailed plans to succeed in life. You’ve got to study market trends, and be in the know, so that you can be the early bird that catches the worm. You’ve also got to keep looking over your shoulder because you never know when your competitors are going to catch up with you!

Is that how God wants you to live your life? Most certainly not! He wants you to be a sheep. He wants you to take Him as your shepherd and rest in His love and care for you! Leave all the “worrying” and working out of plans to Him. He sees further than you can! And when you simply follow His leading, you will end up walking in good success.

Once, when I decided to sell my apartment, I didn’t prioritize studying the property market to see if it was a good time to sell it. In fact, I found out that someone else who had just sold off a similar-sized unit had done so at a price that was an all-time low. He must have been in a hurry. Naturally speaking, he spoiled the market for me.

In any case, my wife and I felt that it was the right time to move. We just decided to follow the Lord’s leading. So we put our apartment up for sale and guess what? After only a few viewings, we sold our apartment at the price we wanted! And when we bought our new apartment, we bought it at a price that was at an all-time low! What Jesus did for me, He can do for you too.

My friend, by all means, make plans and be diligent to know what you need to know in the field of your industry and in the areas you’re going to make important decisions. But first, seek and hear what Jesus is saying to you as you bring your concerns and what you need to do to Him. Believe that He will lead you by His Spirit and with His wisdom and perfect timing. And He will lead you to good success in ways beyond anything that you can ever plan for!

Patience and Gentleness

Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.
--Ephesians 4:2
New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY'S VERSE
"You mean I have to put up with that!?"  There are those folks in life about whom the saying is true:  "They are the grit out of which we are to fashion our pearl."  But our great example in this challenge is Jesus.  Think of what he had to put up with in his 12 disciples.  Remember how transformational his patience and gentleness with them was.  Can we dare to less?

MY PRAYER
Give me strength and patience, O God, that I may be as loving, gentle, and patient with others as you have been with me.  Through Jesus my Lord and hero I pray.  Amen.

Wisdom And Length Of Days

Happy is the man who finds wisdom, and the man who gains understanding…Length of days is in her right hand, in her left hand riches and honor.
Proverbs 3:13, 16

The Bible tells us that Jesus is our wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:30). And because we have Jesus as our wisdom, we can be blessed with the two hands of wisdom. This means that riches and honor, as well as length of days, belong to us!

Beloved, pursue Jesus as your wisdom and you will experience good success in every area of your life. For example, if you are a business owner, depend on the Lord for His wisdom. Trust that the Lord will bless you with the wisdom from heaven to come up with moneymaking or money-saving ideas.

When you pursue Jesus as your wisdom and walk in His wisdom, you will also enjoy length of days. Your life will not be cut short due to foolish or wrong decisions. His wisdom will preserve you and cause you to live a long and fulfilling life!

Last? Nobody likes to be last.

Sitting down, Jesus called the twelve and said, "If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all."
--Mark 9:35
New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY'S VERSE
Last?  Nobody likes to be last.  We have a hard enough time settling for second place, much less last place.  Jesus reverses the rank.  The person who is most important to him is not the person seeking the status and notoriety. The most important person is like Jesus himself: willing to give up rank and status and importance to serve.  For Jesus, last means first in service and first in the eyes of God.

MY PRAYER
Magnificent God my Savior, you have made the world wonderful for me and have given your Son to redeem me.  How can I ever thank you or repay you for your grace and kindness.  Today help me see those you want me to serve with grace and kindness as I try to be more like you.  This I pray in the name of the one who washed his disciples' feet.  Amen.

Be Changed By Beholding Christ

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.
2 Corinthians 3:18

If you go to any good bookstore, you will find a section called “Self-Improvement”. Here, you’ll find all kinds of books describing various principles and methods you can follow to improve yourself. In all these books, the focus is on you using your willpower and self-discipline to apply the principles to improve yourself.

But God does not want you focusing on yourself. That’s self-occupation, which can only take you so far, with results that last only as long as your willpower lasts. God has a higher way. He wants you to be Christ-occupied. When you look to yourself to improve yourself, you are putting confidence in your flesh. But the Bible tells us that in our flesh dwells no good thing (Romans 7:18), and that we should put no confidence in our flesh (Philippians 3:3).

My friend, the best way to change yourself is to forget self and be occupied with Christ. When you read the Bible, see His beauty, His majesty, His compassion and His grace. As you keep beholding and meditating on His glory, the Holy Spirit inside you goes to work in you. He will transform you into the very same image of Christ. You will be changed from glory to glory, experiencing true and lasting inward transformation!

Spirit to Spirit

God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship him in spirit and in truth.
--John 4:24
New International Version

THOUGHTS ABOUT TODAY'S VERSE
Genuine worship is a gift.  Since God is spirit, since he is holy, we cannot fully approach him without the gift and blessing of his Holy Spirit.  As Christians who received his Spirit when we were baptized into Christ and born of God, we can now speak to him and worship him Spirit to Spirit.

MY PRAYER
Abba Father, by the gift of your Spirit I come to you as your child.  Thank you so much for giving me your Spirit so that I can approach you with confidence and know you hear the concerns of my heart.  Please accept the worship of my heart, of my words, and of my actions.  May the things I do today bring you glory.  In Jesus name I pray.  Amen.
The Revelation Of Righteousness Delivers

For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law but under grace.
Romans 6:14

I give thanks to the Lord for all the testimonies I’ve received from precious lives touched by Jesus. Here’s one from a brother in Australia, who wrote to me to share how he had been delivered from multiple addictions as he started to hear and receive the revelation of his righteousness in Christ:

I have just given up smoking by doing what you’ve taught in your books and DVDs—becoming conscious of and confessing my righteousness in Christ—whenever I was tempted to smoke. I have also been set free from 20 years of drug and alcohol abuse, and am free of paranoid thoughts. I couldn’t give them up through my own efforts, but through Christ I have. Praise Jesus for His overcoming grace!

My friend, God’s provision covers all aspects of life, including deliverance from long-term addictions. When you continually receive God’s gifts of abundant grace, righteousness and no condemnation in Christ, you will walk in His power to reign over every addiction or condition holding you captive today!
